Bike Safety Program with Big foot!

Yesterday, Our class had out turn to do biking with the Big Foot Program. Before we had to start riding the bikes, we had to learn a few rules, about how to check your helmet. And to check your helmet, you have to check if their is cracks, you can do that by, putting two of your thumbs, on each side of the helmet, and just pull your hardest, ( well not that hard ), and you might see cracks, on your helmet, and even though there is small cracks, it is rubbish, and it is for your own safety of your head. Once you put your helmet on, two fingers above your eyebrows, to the bottom of your helmet. Once you've done that 4 fingers to make a V-shape around the bottom of your ears, also make sure not to show the Y-shape. Make a V-shape, using the strap's on the helmet, and to pull it down so that the helmet could fit under your chin. Last step is to put 1 finger under the strap beneath your chin, so that you can breath easily, and so it's not to tight, and then just take a bow to check if your helmet isn't loose.

Also before you hop on your bike, you must check these 4 things.
1. Check if both of your brakes work.
2. Check if your Tyre is pumped, not flat.
3. Check if your Release leavers, are tight.
4. And make sure that your red light reflector, is on your bike.

Yesterday, we learnt  lots of stuff, of how to be safe if you are on the road. And that we also got to go ride around May road Park. And that we had to, use our hand signal, if we were, turning or stopping. We all had a turn to lead, and when it was my turn, I got confused where to go.
And it was a Fun and hot day out, Biking with the Big Foot Program!

Market day Project

Market Day Project

On week 6 there would be a Market day held at Wesley Intermediate School. There would be different people selling there Items. At the market day people will be selling food, slime, lollies and plenty of stuff. It is going to be a challenge for the Wesley kids, because the class that has the most money will get to choose to go on a trip some where. So they have to convince the customers to buy there items. 

My group will be selling something that got's to do with a candy store. So your classes has to work as a team to raise the most money. You can do that by making it cheap, and making your display "WOW". Like Maybe some of your team members can give samples to them and if they like it, maybe they can come and buy some of your product.

Master chef Cupcake Challenge

Master chef Cupcake challenge.

On Wednesday 5 July, we had a cupcake challenge. The challenge was that we had to ice our cupcake in 30min. We had to do a Matariki theme for our 12 cupcakes. For our cupcakes we had to follow the exact recipe our teacher has given us. But for the decorations it is our choice how we decorate it.  But it has to relate to Matariki. For our team, we did blue icing, with stars and sprinkles and a blue moon, with chocolate and vanilla stars. But when we were doing our icing, we had trouble, because we tried to swirl it and it didn't really work. So we got creative, and just spread-ed the icing around the cupcake. But we had to rush. We ran out of icing so we had to make a new one fast, in 10min top. So we kept on putting lots of icing and water in the bowl with blue icing. But we made it dark, so we had to add more icing in so that it can be light, and match the other icings.
There was other groups that was already finished. Once every one has finished, we had to do 2  laps around the court while, our principle came to be our judge. There was points as well to who has the best looking, the greatest taste, the best theme for Matariki, and that we had  some questions to answer.
We came 1st equal with our other group in front of us. It was a really fun day, icing our cupcakes!

Market Day

Market Day: Term 3
Market day is on Term 3. What is a Market? Well Market is a day when the whole school, is either making something, or cooking. Either they can cook something, or make drinks. They can sell, or produce something. It is a fun day. People can come and buy things. But the challenge is that, which class makes the most money, gets to choose where they want to go, like Rainbow's end, Zoo, ice Skating. Well pretty much anywhere. So that is a challenge for the whole school. So we have to like work hard and to convince people to buy there stuff. So it is going to be tough.

Maggi Kitchen Showdown

Maggi Kitchen Showdown
On Thursday we were cooking for the Maggi cooking show down. But it was like a practice for us to like get ready for cooking. We ( room 4) was versing other schools at cooking. We had to provide a meal to feed a family of 4, under $20 in 30min or less, to cook. It was a really fun thing to do. Me and my group is called the Starberries. In our group we had, Me, Lucyanne and Avara. We were making- Teropika Motu Lu. It means.. Tropical island Lu. It was a traditional food for some of the Pacific's.  It was like a Islander food because, we thought that we should try a islander food that they haven't tried before.
It was really fun cooking, but at the same time, we started of really bad. We had a few spills. But it was really fun and that we worked hard as a team. It was a really fun time cooking. Once we finished it was a really delicious meal that we cooked. Some of the staff member's tasted it. And we had really good comments for our meal. And that it was really fun!

Also and that Dont be afraid to be yourself. Pink shirt day supports people who is going through a rough time in life. At pink shirt day, lots of people wears a lot of pink, no matter if you are a girl or boy. Pink shirt day is when everyone wears plenty of pink. And at Wesley Intermediate, we are having a competition, for who has the best decorations, and who has the best outfit. And that, who ever wins they might get a prize, hopefully. And that I hope that the whole school wears something pink, to support the people who gets bullied!

My Holiday

                                      During my Holiday…..

In my Holiday me and my mum and my brother went to New Lynn  to have lunch.  My other brother was gone with my cousin to met up with his friends to Sylvia park to watch a movie. When they went there they went to pak n save to buy there food there because it was expensive when they went to the movie. The movie that they watched was

The Fate of the furious. When we went there we were like looking around the mall. Once we finished that we went to eat. Me and my brother was eating MacDonald for the first time in a month. My mum was eating steak,egg and some food.

Once we finished we went to grab a ice-cream from MacDonald.

Once we finished eating it we went to ENJOY to buy something. It really took us long like 1 hr just to find something. So we finally came up with one.I bought glue and my brother brought Rainbow sand. It was  purple and there was multiple colour.  Like Purple,Blue,Yellow,Orange and many colours.

It was a really fun day. Then we went to countdown to buy some foods. And then it was time to go. But before we went we just went to look around while my mum was having a rest and she was playing on her phone. While my mum was resting we went to look around Noel Leeming. Me and him was like touching everything.

Later on me and my brother went to the park to catch up with some friends. We were playing. On the slide. While we were there we were playing tag. And I volunteered to be in because they kept on arguing who is going to be in. Once we were finishing it got really boring. So we went to the basketball court and played master,basketball. It was really fun  and we were in teams.

It was really fun and I was tired. Once we finished up we had a race back home and I won. Our home is  really close. So we just went home had a shower. And we were just eating and sleeping in the lounge. The movie that we were watching on the television was a horror movie. It was a really good day going out and having fun. My Little cousins were there and we had to look after them too and the same time.

I had a really Fabulous, extreme and fun and sometimes boring because we had to clean up the house before we leave.

Anyways we had a great holiday,during the 2wk holiday.

Ports of Auckland-Maritime Museum

What is ports of Auckland?

Ports of Auckland is a place where there is many many containers that gets exported,imported to Auckland. There is Cars that gets imported. Food and many kind of stuff. It is really close to the sea. How do they pick up the containers. They don't left it by there self. They use a machine called a straddle carrier. They use the straddle carrier to lift up the containers and put's  them onto the ground. It is also close to the Maritime Museum. What is a Maritime Museum. A Maritime museum is a kind of museum that has boats,yacht and many kind of stuff that is based on the sea or the boat and many kind. 

The Maritime Museum is in the city as well as the ports of Auckland. The ports of Auckland is a really big company and, did you know that the straddle carriers that they use it  is probably worth about $9 million dollars. And this is a picture how does the ports of Auckland looks like.. It is way bigger if your actually there. Also that in the Maritime museum  there is lots of Beds in one room. There was about like 24 I think,There is 12 in each 2 sides.. Also here is a picture how the Maritime museum looks like. Just below.

And i think that's how big the ports of Auckland, or it is bigger that the one in the picture.

Anyways, at the maritime museum there is lots of cool things there, also, that while I was there, I saw a boat that was 130 years old. There was different size's  of boat's. At the Maritime museum there was some activities there. At the Maritime museum there is also a wall, and you can write like a fake story and pin it up on the wall and you can write your name if you want to. And that is all i know about the ports of Auckland and the Maritime museum.

Hi my name is Angie and i go to Wesley intermediate School Mt Roskill. And this is my own blog Where i write about stuff, what i do and what we do at Wesley intermediate school.

Wesley is a really fun school and it is a lot of fun.

And ever since i started i was shy because i hardly knew any one there but when it was week 2 or 3 i got use to Wesley. And  i got to know a lot of my class mates. And some of my old friends were in my class. And now i am in room 4 and my teacher is Mrs brink, and she has a little baby called Otis and she brings him every Monday.
 I really enjoy being in room 4.
